Colts Win County Relays
Ben Skrincosky '22 was part of two wins and a second place at County Relays.
Howell, NJ - The Colts made the trip down to Howell for the Monmouth County Relay Championship on May 5th. The boys were looking to extend their win streak to 11 at the relays. From early in the meet, the Colts were clearly focused on the win.
The 4 x 1600 team of Otto Gross '24, Colin Falkowski '22, Kevin Allen '23 and Zach Settino '22 took the win in 19:33. They led wire to wire. In the next event, the 400IH, Matt Herman '23, Joe Silvestri '22 and Ben Skrincosky '22 took home another win. They ran times of 56.94, 57.60 and 58.68 respectively. The boys had one other win on the track in the 110 HH. That team of Kam Coleman '23, Matt Herman '23, Ben Skrincosky '22 and Paul Hernandez '23 took the win in a season best of 1:05.45.
In the throws, Coach Cusick's crew took wins in 2 out of 3 events. The shot put team of Rob Manse III '22 and Hugh Straine '22 won easily with throws of 54'10" and 47'11.5". Those throws were the 1st and 3rd overall. In the discus throw, Manse's toss of 158'1" topped the field and teamed up with Anthony Price '23 for the win. Anthony threw 130'1".
Coach Sanderson's jumpers took 1 win. The triple jump team of Coleman and Brian Askin '23 won with jumps of 43'5.25" and 37'6.5".
Next up for the Colts is the County Championships on May 11th and 13th at Middletown North.
