Sean Galvin '26 (left) and Luke Hnatt '26 finished 1-2 in the frosh race.
The freshmen got us started with a big win. Our top 5 was down two men. Wyatt Falkowski '26 was debuting at varsity and Will Sakoutis '26 was at a wrestling tournament. Luckily, Sean Galvin '26 had himself a day. He scored a goal in his hockey game and traveled from Connecticut to help us win. He took the lead early with teammate Luke Hnatt '26. Both fought hard and finished 1-2. Ryan Collins '26 continued his rise in 7th place, James Boyce '26 PBd by over a minute and Ryan Adams '26 overcame some early race issues to finish out our scoring. The boys won 32-42 over St. Peter's.
The JV team had a stellar day on the course. Thomas Field '25 finished 2nd in a hard fought battle in an impressive 17:10. Braeden Cullen '25, Carter Cox, James Prunty '23 and Ryan Shibles '25 scored an impressive 29 points over St. Peter's 32.
Alex Mastroly '25 set a soph school record in 16:15
The varsity crew lined up for the last race of the day. Our top 8 were home preparing for the state meet, so a few guys got the opportunity to race varsity. The team stepped into varsity roles and ran great. Matt Mastroly '23 and Alex Mastroly '25 were out with the lead pack from the gun. Both worked hard together and used their varsity experience to finish in 5th and 6th. Their times of 16:12 and and 16:15 are top 5 performances in school history. Alex's 16:15 is our sophomore record. Wyatt Falkowski '26, Kevin Allen '23 and Brady Barber '24 finished out our scoring. The boys finished 3rd behind St. Peter's and Union Catholic.
